Start with an available home or a plan
You can tour a home already under construction or complete, or choose a plan to build in one of our current communities. Start with your budget, preferred move date, and the spaces you need. Your Home Advisor can help you compare both paths.
If you choose an available home
Tour the home and confirm its price, included features, and expected move-in timing. The plan and some or all selections are already set. Ask your Home Advisor whether any changes remain possible at the home's construction stage.
If you choose a plan to build
Explore the full plan collection and discuss the plan that fits your needs. Your Home Advisor will help you identify an eligible homesite in your chosen community and confirm the plan's fit before you proceed. A plan shown in the collection is a starting point for that conversation, not confirmation that it fits every lot.
Review options and pricing
Discuss what would make the home work better for you. Your Home Advisor will review the options available for your plan and homesite, explain their pricing, and document the selections you approve. Confirm the home's total price, included features, and any option costs before committing to those choices.
Finalize your selections before construction
Finalize personalized core plan options and interior selections at the preconstruction meeting, before the foundation starts. This is when the team reviews the approved selections for your home.
After your preconstruction meeting, changes require a change order. Request items such as landscaping or fencing at least two weeks before the work begins. Your Home Advisor will confirm availability and pricing before you approve.
Review financing and your contract
For either path, a lender can explain potential loan options and estimated costs. Review the purchase agreement, earnest-money requirements, approved selections where applicable, and any incentive terms before signing. Your Home Advisor can explain how these steps relate to your home's schedule.
Follow construction through closing
For a home being built, construction follows the approved plan and selections. Your Home Advisor can explain progress updates, your walkthrough, and the expected closing schedule. Before move-in, review your warranty documents and service-request instructions.
First-visit checklist
Bring your budget, preferred move date, lease-end date if applicable, home requirements, and questions about location and commuting. If you have a plan in mind, tell us which one and what you would like to discuss changing.
